Weekly Writing Challenge – The Hit

For this week’s challenge, you must write a fifty-word story. Not five thousand, not five hundred, but precisely fifty words.

Here we go, hope you like it. 🙂

The Hit

He steps up to the podium; smiling, waving.

Hand goes to his pocket, reaching for the prompt.

What’s this? A death’s head card?

Confusion.

Comprehension.

Terror.

Too late.

A ¼ mile away a gloved finger pulls a trigger.

Blood, hair, bone, brain.

People screaming.

Job done, the assassin melts away.
